Happy 30th!
We've spent the holiday weekend celebrating Phil's birthday. We went to Wasabi with the family on Sunday after church and then to Bonefish Grill on Monday evening for a surprise dinner with our friends.

Weekend Away
To celebrate Phil's last days in his 20's, we went to Gatlinburg for the weekend. It was the first time we've gone away in over 3 years, and we definitely needed the break. We woke up the second morning and realized we couldn't remember the last time we started the day well rested. The kids did great with Nana and Papa, so we should be able to do this again in the future.
The romantic jacuzzi ~ Our first comment was "Evie would just love a heart shaped bathtub"! Yes, we are parents of preschoolers...

Sprout and a jelly sandwich
We went to a playgroup at Sprout Studio this morning. It is a really neat place and the kids loved it. I had a hard time keeping both kids in my sight at all times though. My friend Rachel brought me some tapioca bread so Andrew could have a jelly sandwich when we got home. Evie and I thought it was pretty yucky, but he was thrilled to be eating the same thing as big sister.

Surgery Scheduled
Many of you know Andrew has been struggling with a sinus infection for months now. After being on antibiotics for 103 of the last 132 days with no improvement, we have decided the best option is to do an adenoidectomy and functional endoscopic sinus surgery. His allergist and ENT both agree that this is the best option to get him healthy and pain free. He is scheduled for outpatient surgery on Jan.23 at Children's West. It is minor surgery, but any mother knows that every surgery on your child is major. His cardiologist is going to consult with the anesthesiologist to make sure that his heart is protected during the procedure and we know quite a few kids who have been to Dr.Graves for surgery, so we feel like Andrew will be in good hands.

This was such a sweet picture I had to post it even though is has nothing to do with sinus surgery

Baby Jackson
I got to meet Jackson for the first time today. Evie and I drove up to Johnson City so I could see the little guy and go to lunch with Amanda. He is such a sweet little boy!
