Fun Friday
We did so many fun things today! Evie and Andrew played outside with Daddy this morning while Mommy took the Pilot to be serviced at the dealership (not such a fun thing). Then Phil went to play raquetball with his friend Stanley. The kids and I went to The Little Gym with our MOPS friends while Daddy was gone. After a quick nap for the kids we went to have dinner with Stanley, Lydia, and William. What busy, fun Friday!

Movie

Andrew and I went to the family movie this morning at The Pinnacle in Turkey Creek while Evie was at Summer Adventure. We saw Clifford's Really Big Movie (actually we only saw half of it). Andrew sat still for about an hour and then he was ready to get up and play, so we left. I think he was completely impressed by the huge screen!

Sunday School Picnic
To cap off our busy weekend, we had a picnic with our Sunday School class at Carl Cowan park. Everyone had a great time!

Cardiologist
Evie and Andrew saw their cardiologist this morning. They were both diagnosed with functional bicuspid aortic valves when they were a year old. They did great at the appointment today. We took Nana with us to help out. The lady in the echo labe was wonderful. She showed the kids with their bears and magic wands how the test was going to work. They both did a great job of laying still so she could do the ultrasound on their hearts. After an EKG, an exam with the doctor, and a 30 minutes echocardiogram each they were pronounced healthy. All their measurements were in the normal range so they won't have to be seen again for 3 years!

A purple tree
We lost one of our trees this spring to a late frost, so Phil wanted to plant a purple crepe myrtle for Evie.

Welcome baby!
Welcome to the world Jackson Thomas! My best friend Amanda had her baby this morning. We are so excited for him to be here. Congratulations Thomas and Amanda!
Naptime
I thought Evie was asleep in her bed yesterday at naptime until I walked in my room. I noticed her Dora blanket on our bed, but didn't think much of it because she carries stuff around everywhere. I reached down to pick it up and straighten out our comforter when I felt this lump. Evie was sound asleep in our bed all wrapped up in the comforter. I don't know how she was breathing in there. I put my hand over her nose to make sure she was! She ended up sleeping over an hour like that.

The lump to the left of the Dora blanket is Evie
I pulled the comforter back just a little bit so she could get some air...you can just see the top of her head

Big Ed's
We took the kids to Big Ed's Pizza last night. The kids enjoyed it even though they couldn't have the pizza. Andrew loved all the footballs in a case on the wall. Evie wanted to know what all the signs said and Nana took her to watch them make the pizzas.

Big boy bed
Andrew moved into his big boy bed tonight. I don't think he was thrilled about it at first, but he warmed up to the idea enough to lay down in it. It definitely starting to feel like we don't have babies anymore. Hopefully this is not a long night!

Happy 4th of July!
We had such a big day! We went to the Farragut parade in the morning with Stanley, Lydia, and William. After lunch we went swimming and Uncle Mike and Aunt Shawn's house. After a quick nap we went to Oak Ridge to hear the community band play patriotic songs.

Special Delivery
Evie got a package today from Mimi. She was so excited to get mail!

Andrew had to come check it out and then started running around saying, "Dizzy, dizzy" (Daisy, daisy in his language).

Landscaping help
Evie wanted to plant flowers and I wanted to get rid of the monkey grass around our mailbox. I found kalanchoe plants that were pretty, need full sun, and can survive drought conditions. My original plan was to put them all around the mailbox, but we discovered that there is concrete between the mailbox and the road. Another complication was that the monkey grass had taken over the real grass all the way over to our driveway. We are thinking about getting river rock or pavers to put around the mailbox to define the flowerbed area. It looks a little weird right now. Phil wanted to put a 4th kalanchoe plant beside the driveway, but the accountant in me screams that would ruin the symmetry. Any suggestions or advice are welcome!

This is how it ended up
Planting flowers
Evie has been wanting to plant some flowers, so I got a few kalanchoe plants to put around the mailbox. She really wanted to plant purple flowers, but I couldn't find any that were full sun. She was still happy to plant the pink ones.
