Ducks

I came down the stairs this morning to find these on my front porch. They had wandered out into the yard by the time I gathered the camera and the kids to come look. We aren't really sure where they came from or where they were going, but they hung out with us for a few minutes.

Truck fishing

It's too cold to go to the lake, so you have to practice your fishing out of Daddy's truck!

Valentine Fun

For some reason Phil decided we should spend Valentine's Day installing a new ceiling fan in Evie's room. Home improvement wasn't high on my list of things to do that day, but Andrew had fun being Daddy's helper and Evie was excited to get a new fan and light in her room. We capped off the day with dinner at Nana and Papa's.

A week ago we were delighting in the snow that was falling. Today we were delighting in 70 degree sunshine.

MOPS Retreat

I had a wonderful weekend away with my MOPS friends! We played on the Wii, ate, shopped, talked, played cards, and ate some more. It was so nice to take a break from my normal routine and have a couple of days with my wonderful girlfriends. I came home feeling refreshed and excited to be with my husband and children. I get plenty of girls nights out, but this extended one was much needed!

Raising Boys

I was so excited to go to a great seminar on being a parent to boys this weekend. The speakers were therapists, authors, and fathers of boys who wrote the book, Wild Things: The Art of Nurturing Boys. I learned so much about the developments of boys, why they are so different from girls, and what they are going to need as they grow up. I would definitely recommend their book to anyone with a little guy in their lives, and if you ever get a chance to hear David Thomas and Stephen James speak you have to go. After the Saturday session I went into Andrew's room and prayed over him. There are so many things he will have to go through over the twenty years (fun and scary), and I want us to be the best parents we can be to him and his sister.

Sweet little guy
