Fantasy of Trees

Today we went to the East Tennessee Children's Hospital Fantasy of Trees. All proceeds go to fund equipment for two new surgical suites. Evie and Andrew stamped their names on Santa Hats, rode on a carousel, drove little cars, and saw lots of Christmas trees. Evie and Mommy rode in a big apple that went round and round. The kids loved all the decorations! Churches, schools, businesses, and corporations decorate and donate trees, so every tree is unique. Evie also went on her own little adventure when she escaped from Nana. A nice volunteer brought her back to Mommy safe and sound. After that she lost her walking privledges and had to ride in the stroller.

The First Snow and a Little Tree

We had our first winter weather today. Evie and I watched it snow out our back door. Andrew missed it because he was napping. We also put up the kids' little Christmas tree and decorated it. Evie had to have the Tennessee football on their tree.

Date Night!

Mommy and Daddy got to go on date today! Evie and Andrew visited Nana and Papa, so we could go see Casino Royale and eat pizza at Big Ed's. It was so nice to have time alone.

Early Thanksgiving and Happy 80th

Tonight we celebrated Papaw's 80th birthday and had an early Thanksgiving dinner. The guys watched football, the kids ran around, and we ate some wonderful food. Evie helped Papaw blow out his candle...it was her favorite part of the evening!

Lazy Day

We all woke up this morning with a nasty cold (except Daddy... he never seems to get sick), so we have been hanging out in our pajamas watching our favorite girls, Dora and Strawberry Shortcake. Hopefully all this rest will help us feel better tomorrow.

A Perfect Fall Afternoon

We enjoyed playing outside this afternoon. Evie swept leaves with her broom while Daddy raked. Andrew laughed as he dove into the pile of leaves. We had so much fun!

Happy Halloween!

Evie and Andrew dressed up tonight and went trick or treating in our neighborhood. Andrew was a pumpkin and Evie was a ladybug. We practiced saying "trick or treat" up our neighbors' driveways, but as soon as the door opened Evie would say, "I need more candy. Thank you." She ate two lollipops and one box of nerds. Andrew didn't care about the candy, he just wanted to walk around and carry his pumpkin bucket.

Harvest Festival at Central Baptist Bearden

Evie and Andrew went to the Harvest Festival at church tonight. Evie jumped in the moonwalk and threw beanbags at the scarecrow's teeth. We ate hot dogs, lollipops, and homemade apple juice. The Knoxville Fire Department brought out Engine 20 for all the kids to see. The Sonlight puppeteers did a great show that Evie and Andrew loved.
