Hawk

I was on my way back inside from getting the paper this morning when I saw this huge bird sitting on our fence. I told Phil he needed to come see this. He informed me it was a hawk that had been hanging around our neighborhood. We couldn't believe he let us get this close to him to take pictures.

Talking to Daddy

Daddy has been gone to NC this week on a business trip, so Evie has been talking to him on the phone every night. Bedtime is Daddy's thing, so I wasn't sure how this week would go, but Evie is fine with Mommy reading her a story and going to bed as long as she got to put blue chapstick and red chapstick on after brushing her teeth. The last time Phil went on a trip she told everyone he went to "Okahona on an airpane" (Oklahoma on an airplane) and now she is holding the phone and chatting away to him about her day.

A beautiful day in the neighborhood

Today was such a nice day! Our subdivision was having a multi-family yard sale, so we walked the entire subdivision...only spent $2 but had a good time. Of course we had to stop at the playground too. After lunch Evie helped Mommy and Daddy wash their cars. She was a good helper! I think she ended up with more water on her dress than on the cars.

Feeding the Ducks

We had a yummy dinner with Nana and Papa at Flatwater Grill on Melton Hill Lake tonight. We watched the college rowing teams out on the water, fed the ducks, and went to the playground. Afterwards we relaxed with popsicles.

A Visit from Papaw

Papaw came over today for a birthday visit. Evie was so excited with the new Thomas and Dora movies he gave her. They played with her trains for a while and then watched the new Thomas movie. Andrew had fun laying, jumping, and bouncing all over Papaw. Both kids cooperated and took a nap so we could go out for dinner.

Happy 3rd Birthday Evie!

We had a cookout this afternoon for Evie's birthday. Auntie Laura, Jeremiah, Mimi, Jeff, Nana, and Papa all came over to celebrate. The rain/snow and freezing temperatures kept us inside, but we still had fun.

We celebrated Evie's birthday with the Lawlor family tonight at Wasabi. Evie loves the rice and steak there. She got dresses from Uncle Beaver and Aunt Donna, trains from Nana and Papa, a play phone from Uncle Johnny, and a birthday crown and wand from Granny. After dinner Nana and Papa came over and brought a new train track for Evie and Andrew. Evie drove her new Thomas and Lady engines and Annie the coach car.

We had Evie's birthday party this afternoon. She wanted a purple cake and for everyone to wear purple. We ate cake, opened presents, and had an egg hunt in the back yard. It was a little bit cold, but the kids didn't mind.
