Fall Branch

We went to visit my family for fall break. We went to my Aunt Betty's surprise 50th birthday party on Saturday night while the kids both spent the night with Mimi. On Sunday we all went to Fender's Farm for a hayride. Phil had to come back home for work, but the kids and I stayed for a few more days. Our laptop bit the dust this weekend, so when I get the pictures off the CD I will put some up here.

Tie Dye

Evie saw the shirt I made at MOPS last month to wear to the Race for the Cure and she wanted to make one. We made 2 shirts and an apron while Andrew took a nap today. I did all the prep work and she squirted the dye. I was impressed with how they turned out!

Little Cuties!

I thought they were so sweet cuddled up together with their bears

Nature walk

We took the kids to Walker Springs park today for a picnic lunch. They ran around on the playground while we ate, but we anticipated that and fed them a little bit at home beforehand. After lunch we decided to check out the walking trails. We were pleasantly surprised at how nice they were. You would have never guessed you were in the middle of West Knoxville. It was so quiet and peaceful. The kids had a great time looking at trees, rocks, and the creek.

Andrew thought the black walnuts were balls. He had a great time rolling them down the slide!

Welcome baby!

Welcome Shawn Aaron! He was born this afternoon weighing 6 pounds 13 ounces and measuring 18 inches long. Congratulations Stanley, Lydia, and big brother William! I can't wait to go meet him, but I will wait until I'm sure no one in our house is contagious anymore.

ABC's

Here is a little glimpse into what life at our house is really like. We were recording Andrew singing his ABC's when Evie came in and wanted her turn in the spotlight. You gotta love little brothers who pick at you and big sister who steal the show! (Pause the music player so you can hear the children)

Pumpkin Patch

Evie and I went to the pumpkin patch with our Sunday School class this morning. Unfortunately, Daddy and Andrew went to the pediatrician instead to get a new antibiotic for a sinus infection. We had a rough start once we got to Maple Lane Farms. Evie got stung by a bee while we were walking from the car to the ticket booth. Her poor finger swelled to twice its normal size. She got some ice and some cuddle time and felt better by the time the hay ride was ready to leave. The hay ride took us all over the farm and then to the pumpkin patch. Evie was excited to see hay bales and cows. They had longhorns and Evie asked me, "Mommy, why do those cows have shovels on their ears?" I guess she had never seen cows with horns before. We picked out a pumpkin for Andrew and then Evie found a tiny one for herself. The hayride and pumpkin picking were a big distraction to her painful finger, but once we were back in the car she was ready to get home and let Daddy kiss it better.

Andrew was so excited about the pumpkin, but he thought it was a ball and threw it on the driveway. It survived, but he isn't allowed to touch it now.
