Way Back Whensday

In April 2005 Evie started her love affair with this orange bear. I made it for her when I first found out I was pregnant, but we didn't let her start sleeping with it until after her first birthday. These days he is looking well-loved and more brown than orange, but she still sleeps with him every night.

Go fly a kite

The kids went to a birthday party on Sunday and got little kites in their goody bags. They were so excited to open them up and try them out. There was absolutely no wind today, but they were determined and had to run really fast to make the kites fly.
Lots of fun!

Go Evie!

After two weeks off (for Easter and a bye week), our girl was excited to get back out on the soccer field. She scored six goals for her team and had a great time!

Way back Whensday

This a fun new feature to take a look back at something that happened this week "way back when". No promises that there will be a post every week, but I thought it would be neat to look back at old pictures and share them.
This inaugural post is from April 26, 2002, when Phil and I closed on our first home. Duke Energy provided us with a relocation agent to help us find an apartment, but we quickly realized that a decent apartment cost more than a monthly mortgage payment in Charlotte. We loved this little house, and would have brought it with us if we could have.

Build A Bear Party

We wrapped up our week long celebration of Evie's birthday with her friend party this afternoon at Build A Bear. She has been so excited about this for months (literally....we booked it in January)! We also had the added bonus of having the mascot bunny Pawlette play with us. She just happened to be making store appearances this weekend, so that was really neat! Evie was so sweet and came to hug and thank me two separate times. I think she had a wonderful time!

Kindergarten Round up

I took Evie to kindergarten round up this afternoon at Amhest Elementary to register for the fall. We turned in her paperwork, met the teachers, and visited a classroom. Evie had a great time chatting with some of the teachers while I took care of registration. They told me she was so delightful and definitely ready for school. It is so hard to believe that she will be 5 next week and we are signing up for kindergarten already!

Soccer and Egg Hunt

Wow, I can't believe I have neglected the blog for over 2 weeks now. My only defense is that I am exhausted just by being mommy all day right now. I finally got to see Evie in action on Saturday with her spring soccer team. She's loving it! Check out the video below of her celebration ritual...every time she scores a goal she runs straight to her coach for a high five. After the game we headed to our Sunday School Easter egg hunt. The kids had a great time, and Evie wanted to make sure this was going to become an annual event.

Andrew went straight for these bushes and methodically picked up all the eggs down the row
Evie ran all over the yard, running past eggs at her feet just to pick up one she spotted
