Way Back Whensday
Evie and Andrew's good friend, Kate, is going to be a big sister this spring, so we have spent a lot of time over the past few weeks talking about babies and all the things they need. Below are pictures of the kids in my very favorite baby gear item. Thank you Fisher Price for the cradle swing...I could kiss you for designing this calming device. It was a lifesaver for babies with colic and reflux. Definitely the best money we ever spent!

The Pick Up Line
Andrew was playing with his train set yesterday morning while I was getting ready. When I went in to check on him, he told me the trains were waiting to pick up their children but the snow was slowing them down. I couldn't help but laugh. Apparently the early dismissal pickup line at Evie's school from a couple of weeks ago made quite the impression. He was reenacting our hour long wait on Schaad Road while it was pouring snow.

King of the Jungle
Evie is 'King of the Jungle' this week in her kindergarten class. Each child gets to do this for one week throughout the year. They get to be the line leader, share a poster about themselves, bring show and tell, and basically be special during this week. Evie wanted to bring her brother and fish for her show and tell today. She got to talk about both and her classmates got to ask her lots of questions. I have a whole new respect for her teacher, Mrs.Van Valkenburgh, every time I go into that classroom. From Andrew and Go Fish, the kids discussed living vs. non-living things (fish), liquid-gas-solid concepts(jar and water), months of the year (trying to guess Andrew's birthday), money(who bought the fish), jobs(how do we get $), and more. I am just so impressed with everything Evie is learning! Mrs.Van Valkenburgh invited Andrew to join in the math exercise and days of the week dance. With some encouragement from Evie he participated. The math exercise is really exercise: jumping, stretching, spinning, etc while counting to 100. He left there declaring he loved kindergarten and couldn't wait to do it again.
