Girly girl

Evie went shoe shopping with Nana and Mommy and got a Dora dress up kit. She had to get glammed up right in the shoe store! We also went to the splash pad and the pool yesterday, but we haven't mastered being able to keep up with two kids and the camera near water yet!

Green Beans

Beans, beans, and more beans. We went to Fall Branch for a couple of days to help work in beans at my grandparents house. The kids were semi-helpful. Andrew broke a few green beans, decided to eat one (yuck), and then just moved two beans between two bowls. Evie broke some for us the first day, but she was over it the next morning when I tried to get her to help some more.
Auntie Laura moved Evie to a chair so she didn't get punched in the face. Evie was a little wild with her bean breaking!

She got pretty good at this

Playmate

Our friend Luke came over tonight so the dads could go to a basketball game. The boys had a lot of fun playing together. I'm sure Luke has never seen so many girly toys!
Pushing their pink strollers together...they were racing them if that makes it more manly!

Thank you

I want to thank everyone for their phone calls, emails, cards, and prayers last week and this past weekend as we said goodbye to Phil's grandmother. A big thank you to those who watched our children so we could go to the funeral services. We are very blessed to have such wonderful friends and family.

We had a happy event last week too. God's grace was evident as we got the exciting news that Briley Christine arrived on June 20th. Congratulations to Rebecca and Derek on the birth of their precious baby girl!

night night

We tried out a new bedtime ritual tonight. We had a joint story time in Andrew's room instead of Mommy putting Andrew in bed and Daddy putting Evie in bed. It went okay, but I think Evie felt like she didn't have storytime since it wasn't in her room. We might have to alternate between the two bedrooms.

Playdate

Our friend William came over to play this morning. Although William and Andrew are doing the same things right now, Evie was more excited to have a playmate. She had to show him everything. Andrew got a little jealous when Phil said, "Hey little buddy" to William. Phil and I agreed that you hardly even noticed having a 3rd child around, but William is a really good boy.

Birthday and Goodbye

Tonight we celebrated Micah's birthday and said goodbye to his family as they move to Texas. He has a safari themed party that was so much fun! Happy 2nd birthday Micah and best wishes to Celena and Matei as they start another chapter of their lives in TX!

Happy Father's Day

We had a very busy Father's Day. This morning Phil played with the orchestra as we dedicated our new sanctuary. Nana came to see him play and came to lunch with us at PF Chang's. Papa met us there after he went by the hospital. We ate a wonderful lunch and then went to see Granny Annie in the woods. The kids were exhausted by the end of the day.

Busy, Busy

We have had such a busy week! I haven't had a chance to post, so here is a summary. We have been at VBS every morning this week. The kids playing while I was working. We had a great time, but I have to admit I'm pretty tired today. Evie had a chest x-ray on Tuesday and was declared healthy! She has a few more days of the asthma inhaler, she is off Nasonex, and will be staying on Singulair for the rest of the summer. While we were at the pediatrician a lady hit our car with her Yukon, so our trip to the doctor was extended another hour while we waited on the police and got all that taken care of. My wonderful friends Rhonda and Mary Beth each watched a child on Wednesday afernoon so I could go get an estimate to have the Pilot repaired. Evie and Andrew were happy to go play with their friends Sydney and Luke. On Thursday we got a new family member. Eve Lenore was born weighing 5 pounds 10 ounces and measuring 19 3/4 inches long. Congratulations to Heather and Chris on their new baby girl! Phil's grandmother has been in the hospital and there is a lot of uncertainty about what the next couple of weeks will be like, so keep his family in your prayers through this stressful time. We got a sandbox from Phil's co-worker and the kids love playing in it. I think we are going to have a lazy day tomorrow to recover from this week!

Family Fun Night

Our church had their VBS kick-off this afternoon. The kids were overwhelmed by all the people, so we spent most of our time at the playground.
