Zoo

We went to the zoo today with some of our MOPS friends. Evie was more interested in running around than looking at the animals. She did like seeing the elephant "eat hay out of the wheel with his nose". Poor Andrew had to stay in the stroller the whole time because Evie was being a terrible two. It was one of those days that she pushed me to the limit, but she still had fun running around with her friends. Both kids passed out on the way home, so at least nap time wasn't a fight.

Priceless day

Today has been such a great day! Andrew and I dropped Evie off at preschool this morning and headed over to the Honda dealership. While we waited for our van to be ready, we walked around and looked at all the new cars. Andrew's favorite part of the cars were the wheels. We loved the '07 Pilot...I may have to really look at getting one of those next year. After the van was finished we headed to Super Target and hit the jackpot twice! I found a sugar cookie mix that is milk, egg, wheat, and gluten free, so now I can make cookies with my kids. That has been something from my childhood that I have been a little sad I couldn't do with Evie and Andrew. I also found Jelly Belly's that you could get by the pound, so we bought 1/3 pound of chocolate pudding jelly beans as potty treats for Evie. I was so excited when we left the store! After preschool we headed into the backyard since it was sunny and 60. The kids played so well together and Evie told me, "Wow! You are the best bubble blower ever!" A huge compliment from a toddler. So tonight I will thank God for innocent children, beautiful days, and soapy bubbles.

Frustrated golfers

I showed Evie and Andrew how to hit the golf ball with their clubs today. Despite Evie's best efforts she couldn't hit such a small target and decided to throw the ball instead. That worked much better! Andrew, of course, followed her lead and threw his ball too.

Why won't this work?!
This is way more fun!

Pigtails

Evie finally has enough hair for pigtails! She loved it and said, " I have curly hair!" She has rug burn on her face from diving off the caterpillar at the playground, but she is still too cute!

pizza, pizza

Evie and Andrew had pizza for the first time today. Phil found a pizza crust mix that was milk and egg free. It was just crust, sauce, and ham. Evie ate it, but I don't think she was crazy about it. Andrew loved it!

Sick and Tired

Those two words perfectly describe this week. The kids got pink eye on Sunday, so they stayed home with Daddy from the Superbowl party. Such a good husband to let me go socialize! So they went to the doctor on monday morning and were also diagnosed with sinus infections (both of them) and an ear infection for Evie. That meant 7 days of eye drops and 10 days of antibiotics. Yuck! I got sick with tonsilitis on Monday night. The kids woke up crying in the middle of the night and I seriously couldn't get out of bed. Daddy was not too happy about having to dispense Tylenol at 2 am. I called in for back-up on Monday, so Mimi came to save the day. God knew what he was doing when he created grandmothers! We have watched lots of movies this week. Evie loves Cinderella now and they both liked Thomas the Train. Evie ran around with a blanket on her head saying she was a "wedding day" instead of saying she was a bride. Too cute! Today I went back to the doctor because I still wasn't feeling great. 10 hours after a steroid shot I am finally starting to feel better.

Sleepy Andrew with his blanky---Yes, his sheets are pink, but we have changed them a lot this week to keep pink eye from spreading so we broke out Evie's old crib sheets.

Yesterday afternoon I hosted a bridal shower for my sister, Laura. Lots of her friends and family came to celebrate with her and her fiance, Jeremiah. Evie had a great time going to a "grown up" party. She got to help open presents, so she was thrilled. She was on her best behavior and was a little angel the whole time.
